Flower Tolerance

The other day I went in a flower shop to look at flowers for the wedding while Adam was getting a haircut. I didn't get any clear ideas about flower arrangements but I did discover that the length of time I can spend in a flower shop without getting sniffles and a headache is slightly less than the time it takes to cut Adam's hair.

And the winner is...

I won a pair of $25 blue crystal earrings at the bridal show today at Liuna Gardens. This is highly significant because I never win any draws, least of all door prizes. The key to my winning this time was, I believe, that I didn't fill out the contest form myself. We arrived kind of late so the lady just asked for my name, wrote it down, and put it in the box. I never touched the entry form and therefore no bad luck vibes were transferred.

Dress Shopping

I just got back from dress shopping with Robin (my maid of honour, younger sister, and fashion consultant). We went to two stores (the only two in Burlington: Jena's near my house and Promises and Lace downtown). Two stores is about my limit before all the dresses start to look the same. We saw two dresses that we both agree look super fab on me. Both around $1000. Yipes. But that's what dresses cost apparently and can you really put a price on beauty? (yes, you can: $1000).

Anyway I wish I could post all the dress try-on picks for all to see but unfortunately my blog co-host is not allowed to see them (otherwise we'd get divorced in 3 seconds, or our house would burn down and we'd have to live in a cardboard box, or something on account of our bad luck).

Royal Court and Polish Hall

This is the Royal Court at the Royal Botanical Gardens where we will be having the ceremony. Imagine it with this green carpet going up the centre and an iron arbor (archway thingie) at the back. Also ignore the tables.

This is the Polish Hall where we will have the reception. The ceiling will be pretty much the same but the tables will be round instead of rectangle and everything will be decorated prettier.

Getting Married at the Royal Court!

We're going to get married at the Royal Court at Royal Botanical Gardens on September 3rd, 2005. We decided to move the date closer because October 22 might be too cold. The Royal Court feels like somebody's patio. It's outside enough to be nice and enclosed enough that rain shant be a problem. I searched the internet for well over my usual 3 seconds and found not one pic of the place but Adam and I are going there today and I'll try to remember to take one to post.

In less than a year I'll be Mrs. Jennifer Meghan McNicoll Filipowicz. (Or J Fi as my fans will call me.)

They'll never let us do this but...

Wouldn't it be cool if we could get married on the bridge at Webster's Falls?

hmmm

well walton memorial has temporarily booked us in for 2:30 on oct 22, 05
they expect us to call there guy over there and setup a meeting and stuff.

We need to check out RGB again for there outdoor ceremony. and will prob need to push the wedding ahead around the sep 24 timeframe if we go with RGB, i just hope that if we do want to go with them , they have the time slot open and that if the weather isnt great we could do it indoor.

Jen, Get on it :)

Get on what?

BTW: Even people who aren't me say a church isn't me.

Sweet Angel

I'm still thinking it would be nice to have Angela McKay sing at our wedding. I think she's fabulous especially THIS SONG which I think would be great to dance to for our first dance ever!

BTW: The song might not play but if it does tell me what you think (that goes for everyone not just my honeybear)

Furs and Pelts

ah back in day.. folks traded services and furs or pelts.
well those days arent all gone.

I recieved an email from a local photographer that said would shoot our wedding for a small sum (small for a photographer)
in exhcange I would make him a new snazzy website!

I think its a deal. our services are similarly priced!

What do you think?

To Church or Not to Church

I don't want a religious ceremony, I am firm on this. But as long as the word God doesn't appear in the sermon does it matter where the ceremony is? Here is a picture of the first church we looked at that advertises accomodating non-denominational and civic ceremonies.

Not a bad church. One might consider it a sweet little church. But it is a church and part of me feels like I'm selling my soul. Am I?

BTW: Doesn't Adam look cute in the picture?

Churches are Fine.. Common now. its just a pretty building..I think its the only way yo should consider it.

Dont Turn Atheism into a religion! :)

That doesn't make any sense sweetie. Star Trek is my religion!
